BEFORE YOU SEND THAT EMAIL...
We get questions all the time - some of them the same ones over and over. Please check here to see if your question has been answered before. If we receive your email with a question already answered here - we'll just refer you back to this page. We're not being rude - we're just trying to speed things up for you (that is, us retyping word for word an answer that is already on this page). ;-)
- "What's the name Plycon mean? Help, it scares me!"
Don't fret chummer - it's nothing spooky! We'll offer some possibilities and you go with whichever one gives you the best "warm and fuzzy" feeling. :-)
(1) It's an old gaming term. ex: "Dude, don't plycon that twelve-sider!"
(2) Certain ancient pacts and secret oaths prevent us from telling you.
(3) It's an insiders joke from our old, long past tabletop gaming days.
- "How do you handle trademarks? Are they recoverable?"
We comply in full with US laws regarding blaze orange paint and trademark removal on all of our airsoft products. This means
that all replicas come with a blaze orange muzzle/flash suppressor and any un-authorized trademarks on the replica are removed
through the use of plastic-bonding putty or a dremel tool. The retail boxes and related manuals also have any un-authorized trademarks or names physically
cut-off/out before they are shipped to us to make sure our compliance is 100%. The putty is applied accurately (only to the trademarks) to minimize any cosmetic effects on the replica. If
a dremel is used - the effects are confined to the offending trademark itself to minimize any effect on the replicas overall appearance.
It would be ethically wrong for us to provide any information to someone on how to
get around US requirements by trying to restore the un-authorized trademarks, or removing the orange blaze paint. We trust you'll understand the reasons
behind this position and not ask us anything along these lines. Questions like that will
not be answered - or we'll simply link you back to this FAQ page.
- "Does this replica come with trademarks?"
Unless the product description says "comes with fully authorized trademarks" - the replica will either just have the replica manufacturer's
trademarks (like the KWC logo), or the non-authorized trademarks will have been removed by the use of plastic bonding putty or dremel.
- "How much will it cost to ship this item to me?"
All shipping prices are calculated by our shopping cart - which is tied directly into Fed-Ex. Shipping costs depend on total weight of the package - and how quickly you wish to receive it. You can simply load the items
you're interested into the cart, select Check-Out, fill out your shipping addy and make a shipping choice and hit "continue". A new page will load showing full costs. You can then simply hit "back" on your browser to go back
and select a different shipping method to get another quote. If you're ready to order - hit "Sumbit" after you enter your payment information and you're good to go...
- "Do you have this item in stock?"
It's easy to check the availability of any item on our website. Simply hit the ADD ITEM button for the product you're interested in. Once you hit that button, a new page will load and display the availability of the product in question. If the site says it is available - we actually have it in stock in our warehouse. If it says not available - that means we're sold out and the shopping cart won't let you order the item.
- "Can I back-order or pre-order an item from you?"
NO. Our policy is simple. We only sell what we actually have in stock! Importing goods from overseas introduces the possibility of numerous delays (missed departure dates, customs, etc). We make no promises when we'll have an item back in stock simply because we can't guarantee it. This prevents any misunderstandings, confusion, hurt feelings, etc.
- "Can't you use US Mail to ship my package? Fed-Ex is expensive!"
NO. We switched over to Fed-Ex after having several packages go missing. You haven't experienced pain until you try to file and recover a claim for a damaged or missing package with the Post Office. Fed-Ex is fast, reliable, and every package is insured and trackable. We will only ship via Fed-Ex. No exceptions. Yes, they cost more - but their benefits are worth it to me as a consumer - as I'm sure they will be to you.
- "Do you accept International orders?"
No. We might in the future, but we're only accepting orders from the US at this time.
- "What's the best gun to get?
All of the AEGs are pretty much the same in stock configuration (as far as power and reliability). Every person has their favorite. You would be well served by stopping by several of the popular airsoft related websites and checking out their respective review sections and forums. Considering the costs - you should research your purchase carefully. Here are several good sites to get you started:
Airsoft Zone, Airsoft Players, and Airsoft Ohio.
- "I'll be 18 in a month. Can't you go ahead and sell me a AEG?"
NO. Free free to stop by the site once you're 18 and we'll be happy to sell you one. Our age and legal requirements are not up for discussion. If you're not 18 or older - please don't waste our time with questions like this. The answer will always be the same... You MUST be 18 or older to purchase airsoft items from Plycon's Armory.
- "Dude - the artwork on your site kicks ass! Who did it?"
That would be Tim Bradstreet. If you're a gamer - you've seen his work. He set the artistic tone for White Wolf's Vampire game series, pretty much owned the scene for excellent Shadowrun artwork, is a cover artist on Punisher for Marvel Comics, etc. He's simply one of the best artists out there. His work is gritty and real and I've been a fan since the mid 80's. I'm proud as hell to have his artwork grace our site. One of his latest gigs was as a conceptual artist for the movie Blade II. Stop by his website to see his online portfolio. He does kick ass!
